Flanders Make operates at the intersection of multiple technologies, sectors, and research domains.
The challenge was not just the complexity itself,
but how to make that complexity understandable and navigable —
for different audiences, with different perspectives.
From fragmented knowledge to connected insight
Innovation does not happen in isolated tracks.
Technologies, applications, and sectors are deeply interconnected.
To make this visible, I developed an interactive experience
that allows users to explore these relationships intuitively.
Built in Unity, the experience translates a complex ecosystem into a space you can navigate —
connecting technologies, sectors, and real-world cases into one coherent view.
Visualising long-term direction
In parallel, I worked on a visual system
to map how technologies and domains evolve over time.
The goal was to make long-term roadmaps — often abstract and complex —
clear and accessible at a glance.
This created a shared language to discuss future directions,
without losing the nuance of the underlying research.
Enabling understanding and alignment
The result was not just a tool, but a way of working:
- making complexity easier to explore
- helping different stakeholders understand the bigger picture
- supporting alignment around future directions
Why this matters
In complex innovation environments,
understanding is not a given.
Clarity makes it possible for people to connect,
to align,
and to move forward together.
